Hannah’s Threads: Women of the American Revolution — New Comic Now Available
My latest comic book project, Hannah's Threads, written for TrueFiktion, explores the often-unsung role of women in the economic and social resistance that helped shape the American Revolution.

I’m excited to share that Hannah’s Threads: Women of the American Revolution, a new comic book I had the honor of writing for TrueFiktion, is now published and available for purchase!
Set beginning in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1769, Hannah’s Threads follows Hannah, a young woman working alongside her husband in a tailoring shop as rising taxes, British trade policies and growing colonial unrest begin to threaten their livelihood. Hannah soon finds herself drawn into the homespun movement, where the everyday work of producing textiles becomes not only a necessity, but an act of resistance.
The Women Behind a Revolution
One of the things that drew me to the project was the opportunity to explore the American Revolution from a perspective that often receives far less attention.
Women played a vital role in sustaining the resistance through boycotts, textile production, household management and countless other contributions. Their labor and sacrifices helped hold families and communities together as the colonies moved toward revolution, even as much of that work went unrecognized.
Writing Hannah’s Threads gave me the chance to explore how enormous historical movements can be shaped by seemingly ordinary choices. The Revolution wasn't fought only on battlefields. Resistance also happened in homes, shops and communities, where women made decisions about what their families would buy, produce and sacrifice.
It was truly a privilege to help tell a story about that often-unsung heroism.

Bringing Hannah’s Story to the Page
Seeing a comic script transformed into finished artwork is an incredibly rewarding experience, and the team at TrueFiktion did a wonderful job bringing Hannah’s world to life.
